Advertising and affiliate disclosure
This site makes money in two ways, and neither of them touches a score. Here is exactly how that works, so you can judge it for yourself rather than take our word for it.
How this site is funded
Advertising. Pages carry advertising served by third-party networks. We do not choose which individual advertisers appear, and advertisers have no contact with the people who assign ratings.
Affiliate links. Some pages link to training, certification and
software products. Where a link is an affiliate link, a purchase may earn this site a
commission at no additional cost to you. Every such link is marked
rel="sponsored" in the page source, which is the machine-readable
declaration search engines use.
Why this cannot bend a score
This is the part that matters, and it is structural rather than a promise.
- Scores are assigned to work activities, not to occupations and not to products. No advertiser sells a product tied to an activity rating.
- Ratings were completed and frozen into a numbered release before any commercial relationship existed.
- The rating files are published. Anyone can recompute every occupation score from the raw ratings and the formula in the methodology, and check that the published number is what the formula produces.
- Commercial links appear only in a single clearly marked block on a page, never inside the data tables, and never phrased as a recommendation the index is making.
If a commercial relationship ever did change how something is scored, the published rating files would no longer reconcile with the published scores, and that is checkable by anyone who cares to check.
What we will not do
- Accept payment to raise or lower any score.
- Accept payment to add, remove or reorder an occupation.
- Publish sponsored content dressed as analysis.
- Let an advertiser see a release before it is public.
For affiliate and advertising partners
We work with programmes in training, certification, professional development and software. If you run one and want to discuss placement, write to [email protected]. Placement is limited to the marked block described above, and we do not offer editorial coverage, score adjustments or link insertions in the data tables at any price.
